With six sides to manage, it's easy to lose track of proportion. The key is symmetry: the top and bottom sides must be perfectly horizontal and equal to the angled sides.

Start with the top horizontal line to set your length reference.
Draw the angled sides, keeping in mind they should mirror each other.
Ensure the bottom line is perfectly parallel to the top line.
Pause at each of the six corners for a sharp vertex.
Try to visualize a circle enclosing the hexagon to keep it balanced.
